We value your privacy. This privacy statement describes NFBO’s policy concerning the gathering of visitors’ information through the NFBO web site.

What information does NFBO collect?

Collection of personally identifiable information
If you register as a NFBO member or request information you will be asked to provide personal information such as: 

  • Name
  • Job title (your current occupation)
  • E-mail address
  • Country/citizenship

This information is collected on the legal basis of  The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) art. 13 no. 1 letter c, as well as art. 6 no. 1 letter b “Contract on membership”.

How do we collect your information? 

You provide NFBO directly with the information we collect. We collect and process data when you 

  • Register as a member of NFBO and provide your name, email address and job title
  • Voluntarily provide feedback on any of our message boards or via email
  • Use or view our website via your browser’s cookies

How do we store your data?

NFBO stores your data in a secure database.

NFBO will keep your name, email address,  job title and citizenship in our databases until six months after your membership has expired or until you request the data should be deleted. 

Personally identifiable information
NFBO may use the personal information you provide to:

  • Contact you – either in response to a query or suggestion, or to email newsletters or conference infromation to you. We also may provide the information to the NFBO national committees so they can contact you as well;
  • Confirm your  registrations on the site

What if I don’t want to provide personal information?
Providing personal information on the NFBO web site is optional. If you choose not to provide personal information, you can still browse and use the NFBO site, but you will not be able to carry out certain actions such as registering as a member or purchasing items.

What are your data protection rights?

Every user is by The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)  entitled to the following:

  • The right to access – You have the right to request that NFBO provides copies of your personal data 
  • The right to rectification – You have the right to request that NFBO erase your personal data
  • The right to restrict processing – You have the right to request that NFBO restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions
  • The right to object to processing – You have the right to object to NFBO processing your personal data, under certain conditions
  • The right to data portability – You have the right to request that NFBO transfer the data that we collected to another organization, or directly to you, under certain conditions
  • Right to lodge a complaint – You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your country 

If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you. If you would like to exercise any of these rights, please contact us on the webpage contact form. 

Opting out and changing your information
At any time, you can cancel or modify your information by using the the webpage contact form. 

Security
We do not sell or share any personally identifiable information volunteered on the NFBO site to any third party without prior consent.  Any information provided to NFBO by users of the NFBO site is held with the utmost care and security, and will not be used in ways other than as set forth in this privacy policy, or in any site-specific policies, or in ways to which you have explicitly consented. However, NFBO assumes no responsibility for the security of information.

The NFBO site contains link to sites external to the nfbo.org domain.  NFBO is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such sites.

Notification of changes
Changes to this privacy policy will be posted here and will be available via the NFBO home page
